Ms. Katie Hope

Katie Hope joined the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health as its Chief Financial Officer in December 2011 after having worked in a variety of educational, non-profit and governmental organizations.  In February, 2020, Katie became the School’s Executive Dean for Administration. Prior to coming to the Chan School, Katie was at UMass Boston.  In her role as Assistant Vice Chancellor for Administration and Finance, she oversaw the budget process and worked closely with senior leadership to provide management information and financial analysis to improve performance and support strategic planning initiatives. Her healthcare experience includes working at MGB HealthCare for a decade, primarily as Budget Director for the Massachusetts General Hospital.  In that role, she worked with president, CFO and other members of hospital senior management to establish and implement financial strategies for the MGH and oversaw the hospital’s $2 billion operating and $200 million capital budgets. Katie began her budget and finance career as an analyst at the Massachusetts State Budget Bureau.Katie has a BA from Ohio Wesleyan University, an MPP from Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government, and a PhD in Political Science from MIT.
