Mr. Cornelius Gaetsaloe is the Business Development and Sponsored Awards Director of BHP. 

He is responsible for driving organizational strategy, cultivating and managing strategic partnerships, identifying new markets and expanding funding opportunities. He will be responsible for organizational risk management and overseeing the strategic development of sponsored awards to strengthen institutional sustainability and growth.

He previously served as Chief Operations Officer (COO) from 2023, where he provided overall oversight for Administration, Finance, Grants, Human Resources, Information Technology (IT), Software Engineering, and the Data Management Center (DMC). In this capacity he provided oversight for the management and optimization of donor and grant funds, institutional compliance, technology infrastructure, data systems and optimizing human capital in support of BHP’s research and capacity development mandate. He led operational strategy and the development and implementation of operating policies.

Mr. Gaetsaloe holds a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) in Finance, and an Advanced Health Management Program (AHMP) qualification. He has more than 20 years of experience in senior strategic positions within non-profit organizations, where he has contributed significantly to strengthening governance, financial stewardship, resource optimization and institutional growth.
